The Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16 offers players challenging side encounters that award valuable crafting materials, experience, and gil. Among these dangerous targets, the A-Rank Notorious Mark known as Muddy Murder features a formidable foe called the Flan Prince. Tracking down this elusive creature requires traveling to specific coordinates in Rosaria, where players must prepare for a tough elemental battle.
Where to Find the Muddy Murder Hunt Location
Unlocking the Muddy Murder hunt requires completing the main story quest titled Bolts from the Blue. Once available on the Hunt Board at the Hideaway, fast travel directly to the Hawk's Cry Cliff Obelisk located in the Rosaria region. From the Obelisk, travel north along the path toward the open grassy clearing.
As Clive reaches the northern area of Hawk's Cry Cliff west of Amber village, enter the open dirt field where the monster spawns. The Flan Prince emerges directly from the ground once you approach the center of the clearing. Preparing proper gear and healing items beforehand ensures Clive can endure this intense encounter.
Combat Strategies for Defeating the Flan Prince
The Flan Prince utilizes a diverse array of elemental magic spells including fire, ice, lightning, and wind attacks. Watch the ground carefully for glowing red area-of-effect markers to dodge before the spells land. Maintaining mobility is crucial, especially when the creature casts tornado spells that restrict movement around the arena.
During the second phase of the fight, the Flan Prince begins dual-casting two elemental spells simultaneously. Keep your distance during this aggressive phase and focus primarily on evasion until an opening appears. Using quick Eikonic abilities like Ramuh's Pile Drive or Titan's Upheaval helps chip away at its stagger bar safely.
Rewards for Completing the Hunt
Defeating the Muddy Murder rewards Clive with 5,200 Experience Points, 95 Ability Points, 12,000 Gil, and 30 Renown. In addition to these valuable currencies, players receive a Gelatinous Mass crafting material. This rare material is an essential component required to forge powerful gear at the Black Hammer forge.
